Insurance Qualification and Processing Statement

At Blackston Quality Eye Care, we understand that navigating insurance coverage can be complex, and we are committed to ensuring a transparent and streamlined experience for our patients. Our comprehensive insurance qualification and processing practices are designed to provide you with clarity and ease throughout your journey with us.

It is the patient’s responsibility, first and foremost, to provide accurate insurance information, as well as to provide any and all vision insurance coverage and medical insurance coverage. We bill certain services to medical insurance if they are medically-related and are not typical, routine vision type tests/services. If insurance information is not provided for these two categories, the patient is responsible for payments regarding services or products purchased. If insurance fails to pay for services or products, or declines to pay the entire balance, the remaining balance becomes the patient’s responsibility to pay.

We endeaveor in every way possible to make this process as seamless and easy as possible. Our goal is to provide quality services and products at affordable rates and file with insurance providers in accordance with their terms and conditions, as well as processes.

1. Insurance Coverage Qualification:

We accept a wide range of insurance plans, both for vision and healthcare purposes. It’s important to note that insurance coverage can vary depending on whether the services are classified as vision-related or healthcare-related. While some insurance plans may offer coverage for both, others may have distinct provisions for each category.

2. Vision-Related Services:

Vision-related services generally include routine eye exams, prescription eyewear, and contact lens fittings. Many vision insurance plans offer coverage for these services, which can include benefits such as annual eye exams and discounts on eyewear.

3. Healthcare-Related Services:

Healthcare-related services encompass medical eye conditions and concerns. These can range from diagnosing and managing eye diseases like glaucoma, cataracts, and diabetic retinopathy to addressing eye emergencies and providing specialized treatments.

4. Insurance Qualification Process:

When you schedule an appointment with us, our experienced team will work with you to verify your insurance coverage and determine whether your visit falls under vision or healthcare services. We will guide you through the qualification process, ensuring you understand the specifics of your coverage.

5. Transparent Billing and Insurance Processing:

We are dedicated to providing transparent and accurate billing practices. Our team is well-versed in dealing with both vision and healthcare insurance claims, ensuring that your claims are processed correctly and efficiently.

6. Maximizing Benefits:

Our goal is to help you maximize your insurance benefits. Whether your visit is for vision or healthcare needs, we will strive to utilize your benefits to the fullest extent possible, ensuring you receive the care you need without unnecessary financial burdens.

7. Clear Communication:

Throughout your visit, our team will keep you informed about the services being provided and their classification under vision or healthcare. We will discuss any out-of-pocket costs, copayments, or deductibles before proceeding with any treatments or procedures.

8. Continuous Education:

We believe that patient education is key to making informed decisions about your eye care. We will provide you with information about insurance coverage options, including details about any differences between vision and healthcare services.

9. Advocacy on Your Behalf:

In cases where there may be discrepancies or challenges with insurance coverage, we will work as your advocates to address any issues, communicate with insurance providers, and ensure that you receive the benefits you are entitled to.
